Stem the Global Tide of Desertification
This project launches our initiatives to stem the global tide of desertification. New Mexico is on the front lines.
Global warming threatens to turn lands around the world into open desert. Many places, like the high plateaus of Santa Fe and Taos, are still green. If their soil is held in place there is a chance they can stay green.

Grasslands, savannahs, and even forests are giving way to desertification. We must fight to keep encroaching deserts at bay.

Reclaim Desert Back to Grassland
Native grasses grow quickly to stabilize soil, stop erosion, cool the earth, and provide organic matter to enhance soil biology. This sets the stage for other native plants to move in and repopulate.
Grasses are key to keeping vast landscapes from becoming open desert. They can reclaim desert back to grassland and turn new savannas such as those created by mega-fires in the Amazon and elsewhere, back into forest.
